New Year, More of Me.

I do not think that I necessarily believe in a new year, clean slate.

But this day, the first of January, feels especially clean. Squeaky and shiny and full of possibility and hope. And honestly, that is generally true of most every day if we are paying attention.

Still, there is something uniquely beautiful about this glimmer of hope. Something about this moment that invites us to pause, breathe, and imagine. So I like to capture creativity in the realm of possibility, where all roads feel open, where luck and happiness seem closer, and where unexpected magic feels possible again.

I personally love taking my crafting skills and merging them with a literally blank canvas of possibility and creating a vision board, entering the realm of wonder. Letting my thoughts wander freely. Vacations. Luxuries. New moments. New experiences. New people. New opportunities. The kind of dreaming that feels playful, not pressured.

My Vision Board Process

For me, a vision board starts slowly. I like to spread things out, magazines, scraps, words that catch my eye, colors that make me feel something before I even know why. I do not rush it. I let images choose me instead of the other way around. Sometimes I sit quietly. Sometimes music is playing. Sometimes I laugh at myself for cutting out the same beach photo every single year.

It is less about perfection and more about permission.

But before I fill that canvas, I have learned that I need a moment of reflection.

I think about 2025 and the things I allowed to dictate my time and distract me from my desires, my needs, and my purpose. I really sit with those moments, not with judgment, but with gratitude and realization. Because this is a fleeting little moment in a fleeting little life, and awareness is a gift.

That reflection reminds me of something powerful. All I really need is a mirror and the mindset that takes all my heart to perfect—the more me.

The more inward I turn, the deeper I call on myself, past and present. When I do that, I make room for an open heart in the future.

The Questions That Shape a Vision Board

So I start asking questions, not the overwhelming ones, but the honest ones.

What do I value?

What is my life’s currency?

What do I want to keep close to my heart, close to my goals, close to the version of myself that feels most authentic?

Where does my purpose meet my exhilaration and zest for life?

I just want to feel exuberant. I want to feel propelled into becoming more of me—less noise, less convincing, and no one telling me I need fixing or that I need a self-help book, a coach, a retreat, or money poured into me to become whole.

Sometimes all I need is a hand, a brush, and unwavering confidence.

Why Vision Boards Matter (Beyond the Trend)

That is where vision boards come in for me, not as a trendy ritual, but as a conversation with myself. A way to collage my dreams onto a canvas and gently ask if this is aligned with who I am becoming. A way to see my thoughts outside of my head, to make space for clarity, to move forward into a new season, a season of bliss, ease, goodness, and ultimate joy.

Vision boards are not about predicting the future. They are about revealing the truth that already lives inside you. When you allow yourself to wander inward with curiosity and honesty, you uncover the goals that actually matter to you, not the ones you were told to want, not the ones that look good on paper. The real ones.

And time matters. We do not know how much of it we get. The clock strikes midnight for us all eventually.

So I take all those moments, the reflections, the dreams, the lessons, and I let them move me forward. I let them become a treasure map for my future, for my family, for my children, and for the people who have not found me.

The ones who need to hear this.

The answer is inside of you.

With some wondering and wandering within yourself, you can create a new canvas for life, one filled with hope, happiness, and the quiet confidence that you already have what you need.

Brush in hand. Heart open. Canvas ready.
